    As the leading business standards company, and one of the UK’s top training providers BSI have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Account Manager to join our successful Training Account Management Sales Team, at our Sales Hub within our Impressive Offices in Milton Keynes.

     

    Key Results Areas and Principal Accountabilities

     

    Develop new business and cross selling opportunities from an allocated account portfolio

    • Serve as the lead point of contact for all targeted accounts
    • Sell the full portfolio of BSI Training services  with full awareness of and leverage other service that may be directly or indirectly linked including software, supply chain, assessment, and product testing
    • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
    • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
    • Through the development and implementation of a tactical plan, develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
    • Through effective internal communication ensure that BSI is advised of opportunities, threats and competitive activity which could impact on our future relationship with the client
    • Identify and secure new business from SME and Enterprise clients with or without previous experience using BSI
    • Track performance of all accounts to identify the range of future opportunities both long and short term and Target accounts with whom our share of business is low in order to grow and develop that business and introduce new solutions.
    • Collaborate with multifunctional and cross functional business teams in order to develop and implement the account plan in a way that improves client satisfaction and achieves business goals.
    • Ensure by effective communication and networking that all Training for the client is managed and delivered in an effective, timely manner

     

    Relationship Development

    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
    • Identify the key decision makers and influencers within the account, for BSI’s total range of services and develop a contact programme that is designed to assist achievement of our business objectives.
    • Effectively use BSI Key Account Managers and Sales Management to develop the overall business relationship
    • Collaborate with sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
    • Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
    • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
    • To maintain accurate records in respect of the account relationship.
    • Ensure all appropriate levels of service delivery management are aware of tactical plans

     

    Personal Effectiveness

    • Being self-sufficient in all aspects of their work
    • Meet the standards agreed with line management for face to face contact time with clients
    • work with an array of internal and external stakeholders to understand their target accounts (organisation structure, pain points, growth strategies) and thus position a solution appropriate to the client’s needs
    • Produce and submit all weekly and monthly reports, expense sheets etc., within agreed timescales
    • Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
    • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
    • Follow documented procedures for the development and presentation of quotations and bids
    • Ensure that account documentation is maintained with the defined information requirements.
    • To contribute positively to the development of the departments performance
    • Adhere strictly to the BSI Group ethics policy

    About You

    Candidate Specification

    • Considerable experience of client-facing sales / new business development including experience of key Account approaches and processes.
    • Demonstrable experience in building accounts in terms of new product development, client development and other forms of customer engagement.
    • Previous proactive sales experience with verifiable target achievement is desirable.
    • Exemplary presentational skills
    • Comfortable operating at multiple levels in an organisation, including Senior Management and on occasion C-Suite
    • Degree level intellect
    • Personal presentation consistent with “BSI Ambassador” status
