  • The Opportunity

    We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Testing Laboratories in Loughborough, working as a Team Manager in charge a small team focused on the safety of gas products. This position is offered on the basis of a fixed term contract.

     

    This role offers real diversity and variety, where one minute you’ll be leading a team of engineers to make sure client time critical projects are delivered and the next you’ll be representing the laboratory at technical forums. This role also offers the possibility of travel overseas. Strong customer focus and project management skills are at the heart of this role. You’ll have constant interaction and engagement with clients at a variety of levels, from technicians to Directors.

    About You

    To be successful in this role you’ll need the skills to build relationships with our clients, understand their requirements and then manage a team to deliver the work to high standards and within required timescales.

     

    You’ll be managing multiple engineers who themselves will be managing multiple projects so strong project management and planning skills are a must. With this you’ll need to use your strong interpersonal skills to lead the team and ensure client expectations are met.

     

    In depth knowledge of the quality requirements detailed in international good-practice documents (such as ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 65) is highly desirable.

     

    In addition you’ll be

    • Resourceful and solution orientated
    • Proactive and flexible
    • Have great attention to detail
    • Qualified to at least HND level in an engineering discipline or have relevant experience
