  • The Opportunity

    This role is primarily responsible for driving accelerated profitable growth in line with the group strategy and to build a compelling UK Sales Strategic plan that offers integrated solutions to our clients with alignment to the group strategy.

    To ensure BSI UK obtains an optimal level of new sales, larger accounts and maximises the opportunities from existing key accounts, drives improved retention and accelerates cross sell initiatives ensuring a strategic fit of those sales to support the group strategy.

    The geographic scope of the role covers the UK and Ireland and is based in the Milton Keynes office. The UK & Ireland part of the Sales department is split between office-based Milton Keynes and field-based (spread across the defined territory) resources.

    The functional scope for the role includes all aspects of sales and sales management within the business:

    • Market Engagement & Relationship Building
    • Account Management
    • Sales Pipeline Management
    • Opportunity Qualification
    • Bid Management & Deal Closing
    • The role encompasses appropriate leadership and cost centre management of the Sales department within the business

    About You

    • Experience of managing and growing a large B2B Sales function with strong change management capabilities moving a business from a siloed sales approach to an integrated sales approach.
    • Strong business development and marketing knowledge.
    • Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of commercial partnerships or other corporate business
    • Experience of working in a senior leadership role in a B2B business/professional services organisation at Exec level
    • Able to create, articulate and deliver a vision for business growth; provoke thinking and challenge the status quo
    • Responsibility of sales budgets of £30 million +
    • Demonstrated ability to build strong and effective collaborative working relationships to harness people, process and technology
    • Experience of working in a matrix organisation is essential with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups – Clients, partners, BSI Board and Executive team members
    • Strong inspirational leadership skills; able to motivate, develop and lead diverse and dispersed teams, to deploy and develop resources effectively
    • Considered and measured in approach and thought process, ensuring effective and timely decision making to deliver shared strategic goals
    • Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
    • Experience of a mulitproduct portfolio
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrable evidence of buying into a ‘brand’ and representing the company values.
    • Strong personal and professional integrity, values and ethics driven
    • Relevant experience in one or more of BSIs core sectors would be an advantage, but is not essential
    • Must be able to be on site and commutable distance to Milton Keynes
