  • The Opportunity

    This role offers real diversity and variety and the opportunity to develop technical skills and knowledge across a wide range of our certification processes and product offerings , and offers the successful individual the opportunity to provide technical support to a wide range of stakeholders within the organisation as well as being a key interface in maintaining our accreditation and other regulatory obligations and in meeting customer expectations with regards to our certification issue objectives.

    The purpose of the position is to help manage certification schemes within our Commercial and Infrastructure Certification Team as well as providing support to our Certification Managers and the wider Built Environment Group.

    The schemes will involve a number of different activities which you will help support including;

    The review of initial assessments of products and client’s technical files

    Helping to manage the on-going surveillance requirements for product certification

    Supporting a team of 5-10 Certification Managers

    Understanding standards and undertaking Standard Reviews

    Being a key team liaison within our wider business to help facilitate efficiencies and improvements in our internal processes


    The majority of the work will be office based, but there will be a requirement for the successful individual to work towards being able to carry out factory assessments on their own, as well as interface with a global base of customers by email, phone and face-to-face both on BSI and clients premises.

    The position will also require the successful candidate to attend trade shows, trade and technical committees and there will be the requirement for occasional overseas travel both within and outside the EU.

    About You

    To be successful in this role you’ll have strong communication skills, the ability to solve problems and take ownership of issues and have the potential to achieve technical competence and a thorough knowledge of the accreditation and regulatory requirements associated with our business.


    The ability to work under pressure, archive targets whilst maintaining composure and working to the highest levels of integrity are essential.

    Ideally have some form of technical or academic qualification (degree/HNC or equivalent) or be interested in working towards these qualifications in the future.
