  • The Opportunity

    The purpose of this role is to manage the tender activities, driving the process forward by liaising with key stakeholders to produce and support the production of high quality tenders and consistently deliver solutions to meet customers’ needs. The role will also work within the Sales Service Centre managing and visiting, as required, clients for lead generation and qualification to deliver business sales targets.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Identifying strategies and preparing a tender plan to ensure all tenders and bids are acted upon within strict deadlines.
    • Coordinating and managing tender activities across the business; ensuring required documentation is returned from internal stakeholders within specified deadlines.
    • Monitoring tender responses from contributors, ensuring high quality information is received for inclusion in tender document, promptly escalating any quality or integrity issues identified.
    • Managing production of tender documentation, reviewing to ensure a high level of accuracy and completion prior to timely submission.
    • Driving tender to successful closure, consistently delivering high impact solutions to maximise long term profitability of the contract.
    • Managing customer relationships throughout the tender process, ensuring a high level of customer care is maintained throughout.
    • Liaising proactively with the Auditors/Key Client Managers ensuring they are fully briefed and supported to put the contract into operation.
    • Creating tender documentation template and managing the tender documents database.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase the number of RFT’s received – focus on panels (including Product Certification specifier preferred supplier panels) and inclusion in more closed tenders with large organisations which are not current clients.
    • Supporting the General Manager – Sales & Marketing to identify new business opportunities
    • Achieve new business sales targets
    • Qualify RFTs for the sales and marketing team based on management direction
    • Working with the operations and finance teams for effective delivery of our services
    • Monitoring customer’s changing needs and reporting these to sales management
    • Acquiring knowledge of employers' and competitor’s goods and services, and market conditions
    • Reporting to sales management on sales made
    • Act as a brand Ambassador for BSI. This means acting ethically, following company rules and promoting BSI services to clients so they are able to optimize business performance and Make Excellence a Habit.

    About You

    • Experience in preparing tenders
    • Preferably Degree qualified or extensive experience in sales and/or customer service, ideally with experience of business and professional services including training
    • Client first mindset which will deliver Service Excellence
    • Sales experience with a consultative solutions sales approach
    • A passion & goal to build a career in sales
    • Strong speed & urgency in communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to capture detailed customer requirements
    • Experience in sales administration and CRM automation systems e.g. Salesforce
    • Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills
