  • The Opportunity

    To ensure that BSI complies with both external regulatory requirements and internal policies, and be responsible for maintaining BSI Group’s Compliance Framework, and associated systems, processes and procedures. Oversee the Group’s insurance programme and provide point of contact with BSI’s insurance brokers.

    • Maintain and develop the Compliance Framework through both the policy management system and associated pages on the BSI Group Intranet
    • Management of BSI’s compliance tools and being first point of contact with external providers
    • Oversee BSI’s mandatory training programmes and follow up on overdue completions
    • Draft and update policies
    • Monitoring and reporting progress on non-conformities raised during internal and other audits
    • Support for Executive and Board reporting
    • Manage returns from the annual Letter of Assurance process and compiling reports
    • Assist with the maintenance and updating of the Information Security Management System and Health, Safety and Environment Management System, including undertaking internal audits and walkthrough inspections
    • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations
    • Working with Group Legal Department, monitor compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies
    • Educate employees on not only the regulations but also the impact to the organisation if these are not complied with
    • Manage whistle-blowing process
    • Investigate irregularities and non-compliance issues
    • Report back to business functions on current risk and compliance performance
    • Contribute to robust and effective compliance controls within the organisation
    • Assist in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests
    • Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance.
    • Manage the global annual data gathering exercise for insurance renewal, supported by a paralegal
    • Act as point of contact with the insurance broker
    • Assist with compliance with Insurance Act 2015 through understanding of BSI risks, and working with BSI entities to ensure material disclosure is made
    • Manage / deal with routine day to day insurance inquiries

    About You

    • Educated to degree level or equivalent
    • Professional qualification in risk, corporate governance or other corporate
    • Familiarity with compliance regimes
    • Exposure to best practice business processes would be an advantage
    • Previous experience working with a global company
    • Previous experience in managing a compliance training programme
    • Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
    • Enthusiastic, demonstrating initiative
    • Strong, self-motivated, flexible team player and good mixer, both happy and keen to help and support others in a team environment and always willing to go the extra mile
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear concise reports;
    • Attention to detail is essential
    • Demonstrable organisational, planning and coordination skills
    • Effective time manager able to display the ability
