The Production Manager’s role is to define and embed good supplier engagement and production management practices across the Content Solutions department and directly within the Production team. In doing so, increase the level of financial accountability supporting supplier engagement.
Knowledge Solutions has a moderate supplier base supporting the delivery of content through to customers, but our spend is often fragmented across multiple departments and the performance management and continual process improvement tracking is not as robust as it should be; all which lend to the need for a coordinated, supplier approach .
By creating the Centre of Excellence, this role takes ownership of all pre-press and production supplier engagement activities across Knowledge Solutions. The position requires excellent stakeholder management and implementation of industry best practices, e.g. Request for Proposal (RFP) and Service Level Agreement (SLA). It also support good business continuity and scalability. Where suppliers are ‘owned’ by teams outside of Content Solutions, the Production Manager will facilitate discussions supporting cost, quality, timeliness and delivery to enable colleagues to make a comparative analysis of supplier options before making a business decision – a high quality customer service approach is expected from the successful candidate.
Good communication through meetings, reporting and email updates is important for internal customers and external suppliers to demonstrate Content Solutions’ performance in achieving the KPI targets supporting optimal delivery of standards and non-standards content to our commercial channels.
The Production Manager is the first point of escalation for any internal or external issues involving a Production matter and will demonstrate leadership qualities in terms of team and personal development and industry knowledge.
