  • The Opportunity

    We now have a new opportunity for a Business Development Manager; playing a pivotal role you will be responsible for selling the BSI portfolio of products and services to new and existing customers within the aerospace and automotive sectors.


    The role will be based from home covering the UK your primary responsibility is to identify and develop sales opportunities with, by gleaning an in-depth understanding of clients’ business needs and drivers through a thorough, structured business review.


    We offer a highly competitive starting salary of up to £45k basic (depending on relevant industry experience), company car and a great OTE comms of up £69k which is uncapped.

    About You

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

    • Proactively network with our existing customers to sell additional BSI products.
    • Identify within territory new prospects to grow the BSI customer base
    • Routinely review sales activity and quality KPIs, based on sales ratios to plan future sales activities to deliver on financial and activity targets.
    • Manage potential of territory through account and opportunity management to develop solid pipeline. Produce accurate sales forecasts in a timely manner.
    • Use relevant sales/product collateral to illustrate how a range of BSI products meet identified customer needs.
    • Able to plan on a short term basis (1-3 months) to achieve immediate performance goals.
    • Remain up to date with developments in the standards industry and be able explain the standards development process to customers.
    • Able to apply product features and benefits to customers’ needs in order to win business, able to apply knowledge of competitors to explain the full business advantages of BSI products.
    • Able to present to key decision makers and larger audiences and design and deliver presentations to small scale conferences.

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

    • Proven experience of sustained over achievement in a new business sales environment
    • Experience of working in either the Automotive or Aerospace sector
    • Proven ability in closing business to business sales and winning new customers
    • Excellent sales, negotiation and presentation skills
    • Demonstrable self-sufficiency in sales activities
    • Entrepreneurial relationship and business development skills
    • Ability to successfully encourage the customers to expand product range
    • Ability to develop executive level relationships and engage with the customer to establish an understanding of their business drivers and how BSI can enable them to become more efficient
    • Able to communicate complex technical issues
    • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills



    Armed with your industry experience in Automotive or Aerospace sectors to a full training programme will be provided for you when you start which will involve training on our range of BSI products before reaching out to clients.
