  • The Opportunity

    The purpose of the Planner is to plan and schedule both the individual project plans (via Project Managers) and develop Mid-Level Plans (at Milestone and Dependency level) for a large IT Infrastructure Programme of works within a Business Transformation Change Programme. You will work closely with the delivery team consisting of Programme and Project Managers whilst also adhering to PMO Business Transformation governance and BSI standards and procedures. Additionally, to provide planning support to a Controls Project and other initiatives led by the Programme Controls Manager.

    About You

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

     

      1. Embedded within the Programme team on a day to day basis, the post holder will drive and maintain continuous improvement in the integrity of individual project plans, the overall programme plan and the accelerating pace of delivery.
      2. Establish and drive development of the plans and reporting at programme, workstream and work package level.
      3. Apply and maintain baseline management, resource usage and cost loading across programme/workstream plans.
      4. Maintain a view of key inter-dependencies between workstreams to projects and programme confirming appropriate monitoring and action is undertaken as required in a timely manner.
      5. Maintain a clear focus and a clear definition of dependency ownership and responsibilities.
      6. Provide and apply sound logic when translating information into a logical sequence of events (planning), which require fully linked dependencies.
      7. Apply Earned Value Analysis data across plans to gain a view of progress to plan for the programme.
      8. Provide aggregated view of key milestones and progress v’s forecast initially via Excel but migrating these routines to and enterprise tool (MSP Online or similar).
      9. Establish consistent mitigation and contingency plans for risks identified on the schedule across the IT Infrastructure programme
      10. Act as the key point of interface between the delivery team and the PMO.
      11. Expert experience in MS Project is essential. Additionally, knowledge of Microsoft Project Online would be an advantage.
      12. Cross-Cover other PMO disciplines as required and provide proven templates and project management controls for adoption across all Programmes in Group IT
