• Finance Projects and Change Manager

  • The Opportunity

    This role has been created to manage the effective delivery and execution of a number of key finance projects across the Group. The initial focus of this role will primarily be on the Finance Transformation project. However there is a requirement to remain flexible to take on new and on-going key projects arising within finance as dictated by the Group Finance Director or Group Financial Controller. The Finance Projects and Change Manager will play an integral role in both overseeing and undertaking delivery of finance project activity and work closely with the team and business in their on-going implementation.

    Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with key stakeholders within the business, this role will require knowledge of finance processes, technical accounting requirements and best practice with a clear understanding of project management.

    The role is central to the delivery and execution of finance priorities and will ensure that finance strategic activities are delivered. The role will also ensure projects and actions are aligned to the wider Group project activity.

    Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

    • Co-ordinate project activity, working closely with key stakeholders to track progress on key milestones, agree the process for recording and logging information about delivery of the required projects, identifying and co-ordinating any key dependencies with the stakeholders.
    • Scope and create detailed project plans to track progress of key deliverables in relation to new finance projects.
    • In conjunction with the Finance Operations Director, take handover of the detailed implementation plans for the finance transformation, action the required project activity in line with the plans as required. Work with the IT work stream leads and business lease to identify any issues and risks for the finance transformation, and assess systems access requirements and issues
    • Develop high quality material and tools to support the delivery of projects globally..
    • Gather data and analyse current finance activities and processes, scoping potential project activity and engaging wider finance and business stakeholders to ensure any required delivery.
    • Pick up new technical accounting requirements based on IFRS and UK GAAP, performing impact analysis, assessing change requirements and engaging required resource to deliver.
    • Undertake projects as requested by the Group Finance Director, Group Financial Controller and Finance Operations Director.
    • Build strong working relationships with Group and regional finance and business stakeholders.
    • Act as the primary focal point in Group Finance in relation to other group function projects.
    • Monitor all projects against detailed implementation and action plans and report on progress against each to the Group Financial Controller, escalating and managing risk appropriately and efficiently, ensuring a no surprise environment.
    • Effectively communicate across all levels of the business to ensure key and senior stakeholders are kept up to date with project progress.

    About You

    Knowledge and Experience


    Essential Criteria

    • Significant post qualification experience in both technical and operational finance roles.
    • Experience coordinating finance projects.
    • Experience of working with or alongside a finance shared service centre.
    • Experience of project management and delivery.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Experience delivering finance transformation and change.
    • Knowledge of SAP and / or EPM.

    Essential Criteria

    • Qualified at degree level or equivalent.
    • Accountancy qualification- ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified (or similar).
