  • The Opportunity

    Purpose of position

    • Integral part of the Country Senior Management team, providing a comprehensive financial, commercial and decision making support service with the aim of improving business performance, managing financial risk and “Making excellence a habit”.

    • Significant contribution to the effective running of the business through evaluation of key strategies, profitability analysis and risk management. Provides a key link between business managers and finance to ensure financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes aligned with business needs and objectives.
    • Overall responsible for all aspects of financial management and control of the company accounting system.

    Key responsibilities & accountabilities

    • Actively support management in the definition of short, medium and long term business objectives and action plans that are required to fulfill the company long term profitable growth goal.
    • Implement budgeting, expenditure, credit evaluation policies and collection process and make managers and employees aware of the existing corporate, product line and regional policies and procedures, and control implementation and respect for those policies.
    • Identify control weakness; enhance control environment, by building a scalable and sustainable control environment that removes duplication and inefficiencies end to end.
    • Thorough assessment of risks, financing requirements and profitability estimation for new projects or partnerships, so as to advise management on the financial viability of each one of them.
    • Exercise full responsibility over financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Liquidity), and sound management control over receivables, CAPEX evolution, all expenses' lines, treasury and tax related matters, and the way accounting provisions are made.
    • In charge of reporting financial results as per company financial procedures and deadlines.  In line with both local country statutory requirements and IFRS.
    • Responsible for corporate governance and strict compliance.
    • Ensure that the company financial procedures are correctly understood and applied, and that the financial results reported comply with these procedures.        
    • Standardize, implement and control the necessary accounting and management information systems that must be maintained to ensure manages information in an efficient and reliable manner, and comply with national.
    • Motivate and develop the team under his/her control.
    • Build sustainable and scalable controls.

    About You

    • University degree in accounting, finance, economics or internationally recognised
    • 5 years+ experience in a senior role in finance (international company strongly preferred), and relevant experience in a service industry preferred.
    • A willing team member with strong interpersonal skills across all levels within the organisation.
    • Well versed with accounting software such as SAGE 300 ERP. Experience of SAP and consolidation systems such as Oracle EPM would be an advantage but is not required.
    • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) knowledge to prepare reports, presentation slides and analytics.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail.
    • Fluent speaking/writing in English.
    • Be self-motivated, flexible, and have excellent time management/planning skills.
    • Experience in working in a matrix organisation advantageous.
    • Can work under pressure, sometimes to tight deadlines.
    • Proven experience of influencing senior managers across all business functions.
    • Ability to work as a partner with the Country General Manager (GM).
    • Experience of ‘translating’ the numbers into business language.
    • Proven experience in managing and developing people, whether direct or input reports.
