  • The Opportunity

    About the role

    The Key Account Manager will deliver new business revenue from an agreed product portfolio and manage BSI’s overall relationship with a range of Key Account customers and new business prospects.


    Key Duties&Responsibilities


    • Target accounts with whom our share of business is low in order to grow and develop that business and introduce new solutions.
    • Identify and develop new logo Key Accounts who are not currently using BSI products or services.
    • Sell the full portfolio of BSI services


    Develop new business and cross selling opportunities from an allocated account portfolio


    • Through the development and implementation of a tactical plan, agreed with the National Sales Manager and Sales Director to maximise our total income from the client.
    • Through effective internal communication ensure that BSI is advised of opportunities, threats and competitive activity which could impact on our future relationship with the client
    • Facilitate multifunctional and cross functional business teams in order to develop and implement the account plan in a way that improves client satisfaction and achieves business goals.
    • Ensure by effective communication and networking that all new business achieved from the client is managed and delivered in an effective, timely manner


    Relationship development


    • Identify the key decision makers and influencers within the account, for BSI’s total range of services and develop a contact programme that is designed to assist achievement of our business objectives.
    • Effectively use BSI senior management and Board of Directors to develop the overall business relationship
    • To maintain accurate records in respect of the account relationship.
    • Ensure all appropriate levels of service delivery management are aware of tactical plans


    Personal Effectiveness

    • Meet the standards agreed with line management for face to face contact time with clients
    • Produce and submit all weekly and monthly reports, expense sheets etc., within agreed timescales
    • Follow documented procedures for the development and presentation of quotations and bids
    • Ensure that account documentation is maintained with the defined information requirements.
    • To contribute positively to the development of the departments performance
    • Adhere strictly to the BSI Group ethics policy

    About You


    • Considerable experience of client-facing sales / new business development including experience of key Account approaches and processes.
    • Demonstrable experience in building accounts in terms of new product development, client development and other forms of customer engagement.
    • Previous professional services sales experience with verifiable target achievement is desirable.
    • Experienced in working with a geographically widespread multifunctional team.
    • Ability to comprehend, manage and utilise complex financial data.
    • Exemplary presentational skills
    • Comfortable operating at multiple levels in an organisation, including the Board
    • Degree level intellect
    • Personal presentation consistent with “BSI Ambassador” status
    • Proficient in English
