The role of Business Development Manager is primarily focussed on selling of BSI Product Certification and Product Testing services to a range of clients within the Built Environment sector primarily, or other targeted sector with high potential.
This role is responsible for identifying and managing sales opportunities, building relationships with internal and external clients to understand their business needs and drivers, and positioning BSI as a supplier of Product Certification services to clients looking to export their products into regions that recognise European or BSI certifications.

To be successful in this role you'll have demonstrable new business acquisition skills regularly exceeding targets through prospecting and high levels of activity, with a clear record of growing existing clients successfully. A thorough knowledge of the sales process, territory management and planning is required along with a clear ability to build strong internal networks and virtual teams to support existing customer growth and new client acquisition. You’ll also require knowledge of related compliance, regulatory obligations, and directives gained either in a similar sales or business development position, or through experience in implementing, or meeting, conformance to standards in these areas ideally in the Constructions Sector which includes building information modelling (BIM) or fenestration.
