  • The Opportunity

    Increase/create sales and revenue for the BSI’s standards and/or subscription products and services via the use of effective end-to-end target marketing.

    Accountable for the execution, measurement and adaptations of marketing campaigns using the full marketing mix in support of a key product within the Standards business.

     

    • Executes campaigns within an agreed framework supported by the marketing product owner and maintains a close working relationship with Group Marketing on best-practice, new tools, analytics and customer
    • Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager and the Senior Marketing Executive in working closely with Standards & Publishing Managers, Sector Managers, Sales Team, Product Team and Programme Managers to agree a year plan of key areas of focus and campaigns with a emphasis on search engine marketing and digital marketing channels
    • Work with the full marketing mix including skills/resource in Group Marketing to create the sales/customer acquisition impact required with a special focus on both paid and organic search
    • Evaluating, measuring and analysing marketing campaigns and their effectiveness using web analytics and offline integrated measurement. Review traffic, site stickiness, bounce rates, entry and exit URLs to improve search marketing for our subscription products
    • Adapting and experimenting with marketing channels, messaging, content offers based upon analytics from previous campaigns
    • Communicate outcomes of campaigns and trends within marketing channels and share insights or new trends in marketing channels with the marketing team gathered from staying close to the industry or from

    About You

    To be successful in this role you’ll have good marketing skills gained in a publishing organisation and working at a fast pace to create and take advantage of opportunities that arise. You will need to collaborate and be responsive having used a good mix of marketing channels and created effective marketing campaigns that have been measured against specific KPIs.

    • Good experience, executing campaigns in a similar digital marketing roles
    • Graduate with a marketing qualification is desirable (eg CIM or digital marketing from the DMA)
    • Strong time-management and the ability to develop working relationships with colleagues
    • Proactive and results orientated, with the ability to balance multiple projects and spontaneous marketing opportunities that may arise
    • Familiar with setting a clear goal of a campaign then measuring against that and adapting
    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Strong copywriting skills and the ability to work on short copy for the google ad network
    • Experience of the full range of marketing channels is desirable
    • IT literate, (competent in the use of MS Office, media map tools)
    • Understand the legal aspects of marketing from Data Protection, Trade Descriptions to Distance Selling
    • Experience of Search Engine Marketing (Organic and Paid); Social Media Marketing, Web and E-mail marketing
    • Experience of working with event organisers and logistics of events
    • Basic understanding of CMS and CRM systems
