  • The Opportunity

    Purpose of position


    • This position would be the integral part of the HK Senior Management team, providing a comprehensive financial, commercial and decision making support service with the aim of improving business performance, managing financial risk and “Making excellence a habit”
    • Significant contribution to the effective running of the HK business through evaluation of key strategies, profitability analysis and risk management. Provides a key link between business managers and finance to ensure financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting processes aligned with business needs and objectives
    • Overall responsibility for all aspects of financial management and control of the company’s accounting system


    Key responsibilities & accountabilities


    Business Partnering

    • Leading the 5 Years Strategic Plan, Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast exercises, to set stretching but achievable targets and business objectives. Working with all departments in Sales & Marketing, Operation, Training, HR, Compliance & Risk on establishing realistic business plans to achieve the budget, and goals of long term profitable growth
    • Leading investment projects (e.g. entering new industry/market/partnership, selling new products) to make sure the projects could maximize profit, minimize costs and at a reasonable level of business risk. This involve ensuring there is high enough of potential demand, ensure we have adequate capacity to deliver, understand all the costs involved, negotiating profitable prices, and double-check our financial position could sustain the initial set-up/investment costs before the project generate income
    • Working very closely with Sales Team in Price Setting (setting default price, price increase & discounting) to make sure we have profitable but competitive price
    • Controlling costs by understanding the needs of the business, different department, and individual staffs to make sure we optimize and focus our resources on the area generating the most profit/benefit for the company
    • Provide financial insights and analysis to the management team for driving profitable decisions


    • Oversees daily book keeping and accounts payable function
    • Oversees monthly and yearly accounting closing process
    • Hands-on approach on accounts receivable and debt collection
    • In charge of financial reporting to HK, Asia Pacific and UK Head Office, and HK Statutory Financial Statements




    • Liaising with external tax advisors for yearly tax filing of HK
    • Working with Global Tax Team and external tax advisors for tax planning and transfer pricing matters related to intercompany charges and tax model



    • Oversees internal audit process for HK office
    • Liaising with external auditors for statutory audit of HK and consolidation of Taiwan branch office


    Corporate Governance and Controls

    • Ensure the company’s financial procedures are correctly understood and applied, and that the financial results reported comply with these procedures      
    • Standardize, implement and control the necessary accounting and management information systems, to ensure information is managed in an efficient and reliable manner, and comply with national
    • Identify control weakness and enhance control environment, by building a scalable and sustainable control environment that removes duplication and inefficiencies end to end
    • Liaising with external company secretarial firm for statutory and legal filing



    • Leading a small team of 2 subordinates to handle the full finance function
    • Reviewing and finalizing the work of team members, and advise on improvements required
    • A hands-on approach to more senior or complicated tasks when the subordinates have difficulties in handling, and also during tight time constraint of meeting deadline

    About You


    Candidate specifications


    • University degree in accounting and/or finance
    • Qualified Accountant with internationally recognised accountancy bodies (e.g. HKICPA, ACCA, CPA Aust, etc)
    • 5+ yrs experience in a senior role in finance, preferably with international company and service industry
    • Well versed in IFRS and HKFRSs is required. Experience with UK, Taiwan and China GAAP is advantageous but not a must
    • Having experience in SAP and EPM Finance System strongly preferred. Experience in SFDC (Sales-Force-Doc-Com) would be advantageous
    • A willing team member with strong interpersonal skills across all levels within the organisation
    • Internal and external audit experience advantageous but not a must
    • Good verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail
    • Fluent speaking/writing in English and Chinese Cantonese. Good level of Chinese Mandarin is advantageous but not a must.
    • Be self motivated, flexible, and have excellent time management/planning skills
    • Can work under pressure, sometimes to tight deadlines
    • Proven experience of influencing senior managers across all business functions
    • Proven experience in managing and developing people, whether direct or indirect reports
